ANGRY BOB
STUFFED
1/2
Okay, I’m not a fan of over-
the-top humor nor am I fond
of obnoxiously bizarre com-
mentary masquerading as
humor. There I said it! Get
Angry Bob! Most of the time, a
comic just wants to get their
name out there and will do
anything for a gimmicky act.
Angry Bob’s
Stuffed fits that to-
a-tee and then some. Yet, for
Angry Bob it works.

Yes, the whole Angry Bob
moniker is for real and he’s
one mean ass dude. Onstage
you know everything and
everyone is held by the “meat
balls" when Angry Bob gets
through with his uncanny ability
to see the asinine incredulous
smugness of humans who are
intimidated by his girth. Yes,
Angry Bob is a big guy and he
uses it to his advantage.

Who would dare challenge this
guy? The sound quality could
have been sharper, but once
he gets started on a rant, like
when he talks about the
tsunami and it offends you,
what are you going to do?
Take away his Twinkies?

Stop hatin’ on a player and
check out this repulsively
hilarious CD
Stuffed and get
food poisoning from the most
sick and absurdly raucous first
time hungry comic musings of
Angry. It will definitely fill you
up and make you lose weight
from laughing so hard.

produced and directed by Daniel Hasting, who created
Jump Off in the effort to give Latino comedians their
own vaudeville show in the vein of
In Living Color and
Def Comedy Jam.

The 97-minute DVD includes stand-up performances
by
Ruperto Vanderpool, Mark Demayo, Michael
Shawn
, Antman, Eric Nieves and Smokey, which are
interspersed with sketch comedy segments written
and directed by Hasting.

Comedian-writer Michael Shawn gives the show its
legs with his high-energy performance, while Mark
DeMayo's polished quick-witted set-up/punch-lines
are an instant hit with the audience.

Comedy Jump-Off: Latin
Connection
is the latest
laugh-out-loud funny
DVD that combines
sketch and stand up
comedy performances
by some of the most
talented Latino
comedians from New
York City and New
Jersey.
Jump-Off is the
first installment of a

He went through other people’s mail.”

Smokey (HBO’s Bad Boys of Comedy), whose gut-
busting set kept the crowd screaming with laughter, is
the DVD's standout performer. Smokey is one of
those rare performers, who delivers the funny
effortlessly; his natural comedic ability is reminiscent
of the late Robin Harris.

Comedy Jump Off: The Latin Connection has its hits and
misses. If Hastings can produce the next two
installments with performances as funny as Demayo
and Smokey,
Comedy Jump Off could become a top-
ranking stand-up comedy series.
