Comedy Central, Live Nation to Launch Stand-Up Showcase at House of Blues

Comedy Central and Live Nation announced the launch of Comedy Central’s House of Comedy Live from House of Blues, a monthly Comedy Central stand-up showcase in House of Blues venues nationwide. Comedy Central will also tape two one-hour stand-up specials from House of Blues venues with the first special being taped in Boston on April 16.

Voting is open for the Magners Comic Stand-Off at http://www.magnerscomedyusa.com/votingLive.php. Voting is open until January 17. The top 10 comedians will compete February 4-6 at the Magners Comedy Festival in Boston for a chance to perform in Dublin.
Women in Comedy Festival Accepting Submissions

The 2nd annual Women in Comedy Festival is accepting submissions until January 18. The festival is accepting entries for stand-up comedy, improvisation, live sketch, storytelling, scripted musical comedy, humor writing and short film/TV pilot. The Women In Comedy Festival will take place March 24 – 28, 2010.
