Lee Camp’s Sold-Out DVD Taping Prompts Encore Show

Political comedian-writer Lee Camp will film his hour-long DVD, Chaos for The Weary, March 26 at the Tank Theater in New York City. The sold-out taping of Chaos for the Weary will include a special in-person introduction by Kelly Carlin, daughter of late comedy legend George Carlin. Due to high ticket demand, an encore show will be held April 29 at 7:30pm.
Spike Launches Search for Comedian to Host New Late-Night Talk Show

Spike is launching a nationwide search this week to find undiscovered comedic talent for a new late-night talk show. The series is being developed and executive produced by Thom Beers, owner of Original Productions ( “The Deadliest Catch,” “Ice road Truckers,” “Ax Men,” and “Monster Garage.”)
Morty’s Comedy Joint Reopens

Chris Bowers, John Roberts and Tony Deardorff are the new owners of Morty’s Comedy Joint, which reopens today with headliner Brendon Walsh and feature act Marianne Sierk performing through Saturday, March 6. Upcoming performances this month include Doug Williams and Bill Arrundale.

TV Land Announces Return of Joan Rivers’ Reality Series

TV Land announced that it has picked up the popular reality series How’d You Get So Rich? starring comedian Joan Rivers for a second season, premiering on Wednesday, May 5 at 10 pm ET/PT. The six-episode series will once again take viewers on a journey to meet mega-rich millionaires who worked hard and struck gold. Rivers tours the most lavish and extravagant homes, and introduces viewers to folks who made a lot of money in out of the ordinary and fascinating ways.
“I’m thrilled to be back on How’d You Get So Rich?, states Joan Rivers. “It’s so much better than hosting How’d You Get So Poor?‘…and when I say Rich,’ I mean RICH. People that Oprah will borrow money from. People that will use Dr. Ruth as a paperweight and people that when their computer breaks Bill Gates comes by to fix it.”
Comedian Zach Galifianakis to Host ‘SNL’

Comedian-actor Zach Galifianakis will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut March 6. Galifianakis has emerged as one of today’s most talked about up-and-coming actors after starring in the Golden Globe winning comedy, The Hangover. Galifianakis has also appeared in HBO’s series Bored To Death, Into The Wild, G-Force, and the Oscar nominated drama, Up In The Air. He will next be seen later this year alongside Robert Downey Jr. in the feature film, Due Date.
Comedy Central Orders Stand-Up Show from ‘Def Comedy Jam’ Creators

Comedy Central has ordered a six-episode half-hour, urban and hip hop stand-up series from Russell Simmons and Stan Lathan. The series, hosted by JB Smoove (”Curb Your Enthusiasm”), will shoot in Los Angeles on February 24 and 25 at the El Rey Theater and is set to premiere this summer.
